Adipower Multiweight: the modifiable weight technology

The Adipower Multiweight and Adipower Multiweight CTRL rackets are the main arrivals in the new 2023 collection. Both have technology to distribute weights in different areas of the racket and modify their total weight and balance. Its name is Weight and Balance System.

The Weight and Balance System is a technology that we premiered in the 2022 collection in some Metalbone rackets. In fact, some Metalbone 2023s keep it. In this new release, Adipower has added to the technology of modifiable weights. But in the new Adipower Multiweight the Weight and Balance System technology works differently. In this post, we’ll have a look in more detail about this innovative system, and the possibilities it offers while on court.

How does the Weight and Balance System work in the Adipower Multiweight?

The Weight and Balance System technology consists of a series of screws that can be placed and removed in different positions. Specifically, the Adipower Multiweight and Adipower Multiweight CTRL have three weight placement areas. Two are located on the sides of the racket frame -one on each of them- and the third on the top.

In each of the sides there are five holes, while in the upper part there are three. The player has seven screws to place in the thirteen holes distributed throughout the frame but in a specific way. Of the seven, three are destined for the upper part and two for each of the sides. Thus, the user must make two decisions. First, choose whether or not to incorporate the three upper screws. And second, choose whether or not to incorporate the two screws on each side and, if so, in which of the five holes.

As you can imagine, the Weight and Balance System provides us with an infinite number of configurations. Among the many that exist, we propose two below: one for the most attacking game and one for the most controlled. Let’s take a closer look:

  • The configuration for a more attacking style: The goal is to concentrate the most weight on the part furthest from the grip so that the balance shifts towards that area and have a greater capacity to generate powerful shots. Therefore, you should place the three upper screws and, on the sides, the two pieces in the highest holes.
  • The setup for a more controlled game: In this case, the balance should be centred and even get a little closer to our hand. For this reason, it is best to play without the upper screws and place the lateral ones in the holes closest to the grip of the racket.

Each screw has a weight of 1.3 grams, with which the Weight and Balance System technology allows us to modify the total weight of the racket by almost 10 grams. But beyond making the racket heavier or lighter, the chance to change the balance of the racket is probably the most interesting aspect in terms of configuration.

It is important to add that the racket has screws, but also covers, which are used to cover the holes that remain empty and prevent them from being damaged by dirt and use.

The Adipower Multiweight and Adipower Multiweight CTRL have raised the standard of innovation brought to the padel court. In this article we have told you how the technology that makes them revolutionary works.
