Seba Nerone gives masterclass at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid

Sebastián Nerone, adidas padel ambassador, gave a clinic on February 22nd, 2023, for all students of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) in Madrid. The former number 1 in the world and international representative of All For Padel shared his knowledge to future sports professionals in this practical masterclass.

Top-class education

Nerone is a reference in world padel and since his retirement he remains closely linked to our sport through events, coaching masterclasses, and exhibitions. On this occasion, he led a training session at the university, which is based in Pozuelo de Alarcón. UFV boasts excellent padel facilities for students to learn and improve their game. The former Argentine player focused on the technical and tactical fundamentals, all of which will help the students improve their game between the four walls.

Seba's clinic was very complete. Starting with the ideal way to warm up on the court and continuing with each and every one of the technical aspects of padel. Regarding the types of shots, the adidas ambassador divided the masterclass into two blocks. In the first, he taught the different options available to a player from the back of the court: forehand and backhand from the back of the court, the lob, shots off the back wall, and more.

The second part of the session was focused on the attacking game. Nerone explained the multitude of types of volleys - neutral, low, blocking, high and attacking - and the key elements to execute the shot correctly. The padel clinic included everything necessary for students to work on the game and reach a high level. The day served to lay the foundations for those who aspire to a professional career in the world of physical activity and sport with a view to specialising in padel.

A clinic with added value

In any masterclass that Seba Nerone gives, apart from sharing his valuable knowledge of the game, there are also some additional factors that make them memorable. At UFV, his usual closeness with the students was not lacking. Seba shared plenty of anecdotes from his time on the padel circuit and his charisma captured the attention of all of those involved on the day.

There was also a lovely surprise for the students, equipped with their new-found knowledge of padel. They were able to test the new rackets of the 2023 collection in their own hands. Seba had designed a series of activities for them to experience the different aspects of each racket and how they handle the elements of padel, such as precision, power and even speed, via the use of a radar that was a highlight for the students.

In summary, the students of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria experienced padel tennis with a genuine legend in Seba Nerone. The conference, without a doubt, was a huge success.
