New Joao Félix sports centre includes three All For Padel courts
Padel continues to reach all corners of the world and more and more professionals from other sports are taking up the sport too. This is the case of the Atlético de Madrid footballer, and world ambassador for adidas soccer, Joao Félix. The 23-year-old player, who is also a fully capped Portugal international, has recently inaugurated a sports complex in Viseu, his hometown, where padel has an important presence.
The centre is called JF79 Sports Center for the initials of the adidas athlete and the number he wore during his time at Benfica. Football is the main sport at the facility with numerous 7-a-side football fields and teqball tables, a very popular sport played with feet and a football but in a similar structure to table tennis.
Three AFP Courts
As we mentioned earlier, padel has a prominent role at the sport centre. The complex has three state-of-the-art AFP Courts, the All For Padel courts. They are panoramic type facilities, with fewer pillars and that allow the vision from the outside to be much clearer.
Also noteworthy is that the JF79 Sports Center has adidas court number 500. Joao Félix's facility at the center means AFP Courts now has 500 courts built around the world. Each AFP Court has an authenticity plaque that shows the individual numbering and certification information.
Padel is growing and adidas continues to be more present than anyone else in developing this sport which is becoming increasingly popular. The commitment of sports figures such as Joao Félix represents a huge boost in taking the game to new audiences and help raise its profile even further.
